In the story we're airing and posting today, Linda Figueiredo says it all started out innocently enough. She was a stay-at-home mom with three young kids, and she went looking for some excitement on-line. In a chat room, her friend had met a man calling himself “Vincentlio” who had expressed an interest in being dominated. Figueiredo used the name “Sexfairy” and struck up a conversation with Vincentlio with instant messaging or IM’s. She says their dominant/submissive conversations continued for two to three weeks during December 2004, and that her husband would sit on the couch next to her sometimes as she chatted away with Vincentlio on her laptop. She said they would make fun of Vincentlio.
Then, you can see in the chat transcript how it all changed. Vincentlio says he loves trading pictures. Sexfairy asks for some. He sends child pornography. Linda Figueiredo tells me she never expressed an interest in children with Vincentlio, and the photograph surprised her and made her physically ill. After she called police, they told her to keep chatting with Vincentlio to help build the case. It was very difficult – it was the Christmas season, after all. Figueiredo recounts Christmas Eve as her daughters asked her to track Santa using a website. As she tracked Santa, up popped an IM from Bernie Ward. She had to bounce back and forth from being a mother … to helping police in a child porn case.
Only after the police sent the case to the FBI did Figueiredo find out Vincentlio was, in fact, KGO Radio host Bernie Ward. Now, she has no regrets that Ward lost his career and faces years in prison. She says, “I’m just a normal girl that just tried to do the right thing. And no children should be harmed that way and no children should be taken pictures of that way. And I just had to do what I had to do.”
You can watch the entire interview here or read a transcript of it here.

Sexfairy says, “I’m just a normal girl that just tried to do the right thing..... And I just had to do what I had to do.”
Uh, "just a normal girl".....
Geez....I guess I haven't been to Oakdale for a longer time than I thought.
I'm not suggesting she did the wrong thing, but "normal girl" ?
Oakdale 2008-> Dominatrix and dairy cow capital of the Central Valley.

As odd as that may sound - it's still a hell of a lot more normal than San Francisco. And Bernie one-up'd Sex Fairy by referring to himself for years as the "Father of God Talk". Can you say "hypocrite".

Sexfairy may have been trying something new, and that was kind of bizarre, but I applaud her for protecting the children. She did a good thing.
I wrote about bernie on my blog:
Bernie Ward, a corpulent obese and obstreperous blowhard enjoyed his strident diatribes against the Bush administration, the conservative and especially the fundamental Christian. He even started his own church on his show "God Talk" thinking it droll and called it, "the Church of the Holy Donut." You can read the entire blog here

Ward's attempt to blame the Republicans and pretend he was doing research reminds me of Paul Reubens, aka Pee-wee Herman, saying that his child porn was kitsch art. Didn't work. Reubens was convicted for having 170 photos of little boys in sexual positions. Apparently he liked to dress them up in Village People costumes while he took pix of their genitals. There was never a trial because he pleaded guilty. Instead he paid a fortune to the kids' family. He should be sharing a cell with Bernie Ward. These two adults had the trust of the public and betrayed their fans. No mercy for either of them.

All I can think is; "The TEETH!! He couldn't HANDLE the teeth!!!"
At least it looks like Giovanni has given up trying to defend the worthless scum and michaelSF is probably off somewhere writing the monthly Judge Walker Fan Club newsletter!

That's the first I've ever heard that story about Paul Reubens, and though strangely enough it sounds true, if it is not true you've just committed slander or libel or one of them things. Be careful.
Posted by: sfmike | May 17, 2008 at 01:02 AM
I don't know about "slander." I'll assume that sfmike probably looked up a public record about that, or read details in an investigational news summary. At the very least, what is true about his post is that "these two adults had the trust of the public and betrayed their fans."
Posted by: sfnative | May 17, 2008 at 09:11 AM
I agree its funny that she describes herself as just a normal girl. She is not claiming to be doing research like Bernie is claiming. Of course, we don't know if Bernie's claim is true or not, but that is besides the point: she admits she was doing this for "fun" (sex domination on the internet with a stranger), and for her that is just being a "normal girl." Well if Bernie is telling the truth, he is a lot more normal than she is.

That's unfounded hearsay, and I never said anything about a Bush-Chaney conspiracy. In any case I see no logical connection between your points. So much for blowing anything out of water. The only think your blowing is hot air!

One thing that I have realized over time is that folks who are on the far left and the far right are actually the same "types" of folks; people who, for whatever reason, cannot see any viewpoint as legit other than their own narrow view. The left and rights of these are really the same kind of folks, they have just chosen to use opposite ends of the political spectrum to express their ideology.
The person on the left who vandalizes "gas guzzler" and other eco-unfriendly cars at a car lot or who blows up a lab or building they believe is used for animal testing for the benefit of humans is the same "type" as the person on the right who vandalizes places of worship other than his persuasion or blows up abortion clinics.
The person on the left who opposes any mention of religion at all is the same "type" as the one on the right who thinks their religion should be incorporated into every aspect of our lives.
The person on the left who has seen extra-terrestrials or been kidnapped by them is the same "type" as the one on the right who has seen angels, Mary or Jesus or has been temporarily been "caught-up" and given a preview of heaven.
And the person on the left who thinks that when one of it's own gets caught up in some kind of scandal that it has to be a right-wing conspiracy is the same "type" as the one on the right who does the same except they substitute "right-wing " with "left-wing" or "liberal." You may know this already, but many believe that Duane Garrets suicide was actually a part of Bill Clinton's left-wing conspiracy to get rind of anyone who might have evidence of his wrong doing.
What people must come to understand is folks like Mr. Ward or Mr.Savage are not that important for the government to be concerned about as their are lots of folks like them all across the country. In my 49 years of existence I have heard of many conspiracies on both sides of the political spectrum and I can't think of one that has ever been proved. The reason is you can't get a large amount of people to all keep the "secret" forever.

Quoth the Berniovanni:
"...What Bernie did was a victimless crime for possibly a very legitimate reason. SexFairy seems to be the one with the real problem: depression for 4 years? I'm suspicious about her story and her connections to the right-wing. Has that been investigated, I wonder?"
Well whom do you MEAN by "the right wing," hmmmm?
You spew so much verbal diarrhea you forget what you've SAID!
"Victimless?" So the kids in those pics aren't victims? The poor girl who walked into the studio and saw that fat repulsive tub of lard jacking off wasn't a victim? What kind of perv ARE you Berniovanni!? Someone needs to check YOU out!
Posted by: Charlie | May 18, 2008 at 11:24 PM
"That's unfounded hearsay."
No, it is not! It was straight out of Bernie's mouth. He admitted it, dummie! He admitted what he was doing to 2 witnesses, then later admitted to having done something awful, made horrible mistakes, & was going to commit suicide because he had no intention of going to jail. No one forced him to say these things. This was way before any arrest or even any seizure of his computers, fool!
Posted by: sfnative | May 18, 2008 at 11:37 PM
Did you hear Bernie say that? Is this story corroborated anyone, confirmed by Bernie to be true? Until then its hearsay. Can you prove this is straight of of Bernie's mouth? From what I heard its straight out of someone else's mouth--not Bernie's.
Posted by: Giovanni33 | May 18, 2008 at 11:52 PM
Bernie did not take those pictures or put them on the internet, and therefore Bernie's crime was victimless. Those kids on the picture are victims of whomever took their pictures, of the adults in their lives who allowed or participated directly in those activities. Bernie's sending this picture post-fact by e-mail to this women did not qualitatively change any relevant facts pertaining to their sexual exploitation. If anything the victim is the women who saw the pics he sent her, and caused her to feel uncomfortable, but even this this crime stems back to the people who produced it and put it on the internet, not Bernie who did nothing impacting against any children. So yes, it was a victimless crime.

And may I remind people, after you download the archive of Brian Copeland's Sunday 9-11 show, May 18, that one of the characteristics of those who engage in perversity, is the thrill of getting caught. (Just in case it sounds not credible that he would have chosen a semi-public environment like this to engage in what the rest of the world considers a private activity.) Absolutely all his activity is consistent with his personal moral worldview (i.e., lack of boundaries, particularly sexual ones -- for those who listened to his shows with any degree of regularity). Not just the sexual activity I'm speaking of, but the modus operandi of public do-gooder in the community alongside of forbidden sexual tendencies. The former is a cover for the latter, and is classic sex offender profile: earn the trust & admiration of the community; become an untouchable in the local context as a protection for more sinister personal inclinations.
As to "research," it is the oldest excuse in the crime books. There was a therapist I knew many years ago. He was bisexual. Some boys came forward against him. He claimed he was doing research for some sex study foundation in the City, with which he was affiliated. Again, consistent with an intent to present a supposedly plausible defense. Luckily, it didn't work & the jury didn't buy it. He was convicted & spent several yrs. in jail, then returned to South Africa, from whence he hailed.
Like Bernie --whose objections Brian played back for everyone to hear this morning -- it's part of this show you can access -- the therapist objected to the characterizations of what others reported as sexual abuse, as being sexual abuse (when they clearly were). In the case of Bernie, a listener to one of the talk shows a week or so ago, remembered that Bernie had vigorously objected on-air to the idea that viewing child pornography was wrong. Secondly, on the tape Brian played, Bernie belligerently objected to the prosecution of a public figure who was encouraging others to view kiddie porn.
This is classic pedophilia behavior: living in denial about what the boundaries are, first of all, & then denying any boundaries have been crossed, second of all. Those are big red flags for pedophilia & is just part of the syndrome. Bernie was living a double life. Those on KGO and on this blog who choose not to believe so are living in as much denial as he is.

Notice how Berniovanni avoids talking about the poor girl who had to SEE the fat load wanking off. Guess she's not a victim either. I think further discussion with Berniovanni is pointless. He's pretty easy to figure out. He's a loser, probably never married, probably no children who's so pathetic he has to go to the INTERNET to attempt to find a woman. Google his web page, it's quite interesting; the words "sad," "pathetic" and "CREEPY" come to mind. He claims to be an ex-teacher. I don't doubt it for a minute, I mean, after all, what BETTER job for a weirdo with his mindset. As I said before, I also believe he's an ex-teacher for the same reason that Bernie is an ex-priest! Won't be surprised at ALL to, one day, seeing old Berniovanni on TV doing the perp walk.

Charlie, further comment on "had to see..." that you mentioned: You'll notice in the infamous chat transcript, viewable to the entire globe, that Bernie makes reference more than once, I believe, to being caught in the act (by under-age persons). Again, this is part of the perversion syndrome, as I mentioned above. Like you, I agree that talking with the above poster is a waste of time. He's obviously a supporter-at-all-costs and/or fellow traveler/trafficker. (They support each other, as Bernie supporter the McLelland guy as reported by Brian yesterday.)
Posted by: sfnative | May 19, 2008 at 09:30 AM
Well said sfnative. "Fellow traveler" and "they support each other" says it all! I hope any woman viewing this creep's web site is made aware of what she may be getting into. Perhaps something should be done along those lines.

Charlie,
Your heavy reliance on argumentum ad hominem is quite telling. It's a way for you to basically admit you have no valid counter-arguments. I guess you can't refute me. I won't take the red-herring baits, btw, so it has no impact. When you can engage the substance of my argument, if you can, then there will be something to respond to. Until then its indicative of your losing the argument.
About the alleged women who is alleged to have witnessed Bernie exposing himself at work, that has nothing to do with children. She was an adult. So this is off-topic.
Now, if this was real, and if she felt this was a violation, i.e. sexual harassment, she could have and should have reported him to management and they would have been forced to act. There are strong laws in the work place that covers this kind of conduct. But nothing was reported, so its rather moot.

"About the alleged women who is alleged to have witnessed Bernie exposing himself at work, that has nothing to do with children. She was an adult. So this is off-topic."
Not O/T. What it shows are a few things: (1) The level of his activity, which was so pronounced & out of control that he was acting out in a high-risk environment (workplace), which endangered his job; (2) That the focus on recreational sex was so extreme that it was being practiced while on-air (an enhanced level of involvement -- that he was *multi-tasking*, dude; (3) and, as I said, that the public nature of it indicated a subconscious desire to be exposed, literally & figuratively. (4) Finally, it shows a long-term pattern, since the episode was a good 7-8 yrs ago, long before the FBI seizure.
I don't remember hearing, in Brian's revelations, that he indicated that Bernie was terribly apologetic, and/or terribly embarrassed & remorseful when confronted. If it was just a matter-of-fact or neutral reaction, that would tend to support the profile of his consistent behavior, & those of other deviants, including various types of sex offenders. They do not exhibit the level of shame that non-deviants, or those who are one-time or very occasional offenders in inappropriate settings, do. Rather, those with chronic tendencies are non-remorseful. When prosecuted or threatened with prosecution or other consequences, they are defensive and/or have elaborate, implausible explanations, such as Bernie has.
I agree that the 2 employees, both of them, should have approached management together -- should have put their heads together in a united strategy if they felt conflicted about Bernie losing his job. Surely, if he was the "long-time valued employee" that KGO once touted on its website, it would have been a good bet on their part that management was more likely to give a stern ultimatum, which (as I've said previously) could have included psychological treatment as a component & condition of continuing employment. It would appear that Brian's loyalty to Bernie triumphed over prudence, but Brian admitted this on air.
However, because they didn't go to management does not mean that the incident didn't happen. It is particularly credible that it *did* happen, given Brian's obvious previous loyalty to & support of Bernie, which has been apparent for years on KGO. He has had the opportunity --as some different lily-livered, rationalizing hosts on the same station have done--to excuse or deny the allegations & construct absurd explanations & justifications. The fact that Brian, as one of his previously fervent supporters, was the one to share this incident (not to mention risking his own job by doing so), lends great credibility to the revelations.
Further, if the female was the same producer to whom Bernie used to refer on-air with dominatrix role-playing (whip sound effects, references to her wearing all black & also other suggestive remarks on his part about her attire & what that attire implied), it would also be logical that she would have been the target of his occasions. It was clear from his monologues that he was sexually fascinated with that particular female.
No, it does not prove that from a criminal perspecctive he did more than traffic in trading kiddie porn -- in terms of prosecutable actions, anyway. (i.e., that he acted physically upon a child). However, it solidifies a profile of a troubled individual leading a double life. That is the very least it shows & that can certainly be accompanied by (& is virtually a prerequisite to) other acted-out sexual occasions, such as more photo-trading than even has come to light, for example.

Ok Berniovanni, you like Latin!? Here's two phrases that will hereafter apply to you because you, sir, are a waste of skin and a waste of TIME!
NON SEQVITVR!
NEFAS!
You demonstrate all the characteristics of a closet pedophile and, as such, you are no longer worthy of response!
As said, any woman who may be drawn in by your pathetic web page must be warned and said warning will shortly be implemented.
I will no longer interact with you any more than I would interact with a dog turd that got stuck on my shoe.
(And THAT metaphor, when pertaining to YOU, is an insult to dog turds EVERYWHERE!)
My apologies to my canine friends.

Breather from trial, so this is to Gio33.
You must either be posting your nonsense to get a kick out of responses or you suffer from delusions, the type I have not seen in a long time.
Truth is, Bernie Ward had a lot of people fooled when he was first indicted. Heck, even KGO was talking about hiring him back because they believed him that the charges were false.
And he initially had lots of supporters, both privately and in public.
But in May 2008 most, if not all, his supporters have abandoned the sinking ship. [Actually, the ship sunk with his guilty plea.]
Wake up and smell the stinky urine Ward has sprayed on your shoes.
First it was supposed book research. [A lie.]
Then just a couple pics. [A lie.]
Then online chat weaving his children into his sexual fantasies. [More than this one conversation is out there, you can bet.]
Then 150 to 250 pics SENT by Ward. [A lie too, there's probably thousands of pics.]
Then accusations of child molestation from 1978 when he was a priest. [A lie by Ward today, when having his lawyer deny the allegations. Ward should get an extra 5 years for his calling the girls and priests liars.]
Then masturbation while doing his online show, God Talk. [What do you need, video of the act? You really think Brian Copeland would go on air and make baseless allegations?]
Then his admission to Brian Copeland, in tears, that he has done some very bad things over the years. [I guess that was temp remorse by Ward, but only because he got caught, not because of all he has done wrong.]
Then his vehement on airdefense of a pedophile. [That was remarkable to listen to, as Copeland said, knowing what we know now.]
Then his guilty plea. [More lies to us. He is doing the deal simply to save his ass. He is not pleading guilty out of any feeling that he has done wrong.]
Then after Copeland's Sunday expose, confirmation of Ward leading of a sordid, criminal double life, for most of his adult life [as concisely described in here by SFNative].
And this is only what has come to light. I am sure there is a lot we don't know about.
Ward apparently was a USDA Grade AAA creep who had the gift of gab, that's it. Accept the truth and move on.
Bernie is history, toast and yesterday's news. On to the next hot topic.
Posted by: MichaelSF | May 19, 2008 at 08:59 PM
And yet, Walker cuts him loose till August. Oh well, maybe that's "S.O.P." as you say since, (and it disgusts me to say it) he is a so-called non-violent offender.
I can only hope Bernie gets his "affairs" in order and then does a Duane Garrett off the Bridge.
