As former San Francisco Supervisor Ed Jew's attorney said today, "For him, this is the end." A judge sentenced Jew to a year in county jail for lying on election documents about residing in San Francisco. Tack that on to 5 years, 4 months in federal prison for extortion, bribery and public corruption.
Late today, the I-Team obtained the FBI surveillance video of the supervisor receiving a bribe -- $40,000 cash in two stacks. You can watch Jew carefully count each bill. The FBI set up the sting on May 7, 2007 after a complaint that the supervisor was shaking down the owners of several Quickly tapioca drink stores in San Francisco.
Ed Jew is scheduled to surrender and begin serving his sentences July 1st.
