The latest numbers are out from CAMP, the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting. It’s a cooperative effort of federal, state and local law enforcement to cut down illegal marijuana grows. They destroyed 4.3 million pot plants, estimated wholesale value $17.2 billion. Most of those plants were taken from illegal grows on public land.
We went on one raid with the US Forest Service in the Mendocino National Forest. It was an incredibly grueling hike down a steep mountain with loose dirt and rock, and very few trails. I had to do my best to keep up with the professionals – the US Forest Service firefighters who make a living, working in such terrain.
You can check out the top pot growing counties according to the number of plants seized this growing season, in the numbers from the California Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement. They oversee CAMP.

I,m curious about prop. 19 and the growers. If passed I,m certain that they would not be happy to be regulated and even taxed by the state of California?

Could it be.... That 17 billion dollars was cut down, how much do we spend on camp to cut down 17 billion dollars of california's cash crop. Why is it legal for harbor side and peace and medicine to sell weed to any one with a 100 dollar doctors script. This state is in disarray, lets pass prop 19, lets legalize this plant. Lets not think about the economic implcations on EVERY ONE, the propane company's the little towns, like every one of them north of santa rosa. Lets fight californias cash crop, or, pass a law that doesn't take anything into account.
